Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
- Alternate mixing in dry ingredients with buttermilk until fully combined. Stir in hot water until smooth.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes; let cool completely.
- For the frosting, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
- Spread whipped mixture over the cooled cake.
- Mix shredded coconut with pink food coloring; sprinkle on top of frosting.
