  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup red onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, julienned
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sear cabbage wedges in olive oil in a cast iron skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  3. Cook onions and garlic in the same skillet until softened.
  4. Deglaze pan with broth, then whisk in cream cheese until smooth.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, sun-dried tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper; simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Add Parmesan and combine well.
  7. Nestle cabbage in the sauce, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until tender.
