Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1 lb ribeye steak (or deli roast beef)
  • 8 oz provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Olive oil or butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the onion and bell pepper, and mince the garlic.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium-high heat. Add the ribeye steak, season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, and cook until browned (about 5 minutes). Then add onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
  4. Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise and hollow out some of the inner bread. Fill with cooked steak mixture and top with provolone cheese.
  5. Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
